So Much News-Gallery Show, Collaborations, Moving, New Prints, Zines and more

June saw the end of my residency with the UA collective, we had an open studio send off party that was lovely, met a lot of wonderful people and got to talk more about my recent process and experiments!

The studio mid clean out

A major highlight of the open studio was when Malik’s niece asked to make her own piece based around the structure i was working in!

At this event I rolled out a number of new zines as well as 5 new 11x17 risographed prints, with big thanks to JT Yost for printing them at the SVA print Library!

In addition to all the forward artistic momentum Charlotte and I have also locked in that we’ll be moving to Baltimore In mid August, so Ive been selling plants and paintings and more at very low prices from my stoop in front of my house. It’s been extremely rewarding to interact with the community and get to meet the people who will continue taking care of things I’ve nurtured. Its also been HOT, and i’m trying to embrace it and train my body for Baltimore’s POWERFUL humidity.

A direct result of this more active community role and the residency has been a major uptick in collaborative work on my part- Ive been bouncing around the city making things with new friends, including Chris Coryat, Xenzonines and Aaron Ginsberg. Truly greatful for these opportunities to make art with other people, something I’m learning I love and value.

Also delighted to report I got into a Chelsea gallery group show, which has long been a goal! I was included in the Viridian Artists Gallery 33rd Annual International Juried Exhibition
Jured by Jim Kempner of Jim Kempner Fine Art.

My painting Spider With Boots On is hanging in the show, and my painting Grant Me the Serenity made the Director’s choice list and is being digitally exhibited throughout the run of show,

Closing Reception is Saturday Aug 9, from 4-6 pm!

During what has been a very wet summer of 2025 I’ve had prints out in the elements that have been caught off guard by sudden showers. As a result I started taking to drawing in the margins of rain affected prints, creating custom 1 of 1’s. I found that this was also an enjoyable pastime when tabling at local fairs, and recently Ive done and sold some recent original/print hybrids! These prints were initially an attempt to make cleaner, simpler work. I have noticed that I am a maximalist and feel to need to fill every space, so there is a humor to the idea that i refuse to let these Open prints breathe.

And finally, these months have seen the full release of a set of 5 zines, all risograph printed and hand assembled! I’ve been sharing these throughout the city and have really enjoyed finding my way back to bookmaking and physical print media after a many year hiatus!
