HYPERGRAFIA

In my life I find myself collecting icons and adding them to an ever-growing personal visual library.  From mascots to letter forms, glyphs and cartoons I am revisiting and slowly personalizing a whole collection of shapes and forms. Each painting and drawing is a conversation with the artists who have come before me. I connect to them through the marks they’ve left, the stories they’ve told, and the ways they’ve shaped the visual language that continues to evolve. 

In April 2025 I began a residency with the UA collective in the Brooklyn Navy Yards. From April until the end of June I treated my time at the studio like a job, showing up from roughly 8-6 5 days a week. This structure and extended period of time proved invaluable in the exploration of themes and motifs I’ve been playing with over my career.
